Happy New Year everyone.
An excellent 2017 on the playing surfaces leaves several teams in the promotion hunt with the 1st XV second in their league and the Men’s 1st hockey team top of their league having yet to taste defeat during this season. The various leagues restart this weekend following the Christmas break with full fixtures below.
We were informed this week by the RFU that our grounds team are among the winners of the RGC Photo competition entered recently. Prizes include woolly hats and coffee mugs, presumable to keep warm both inside and outside, the head anyway!
The next concert of the Warrington Foodbank will take place at St Wilfrids Church, Grappenhall on Friday 2nd February at 7.30pm. Leading is Meera Maharaj and Dominic Degavino. Tickets are £10 which includes a glass of wine or soft drink and available from 07748 425286. Any donation of groceries will be gratefully accepted. On the Facebook page “Warrington Foodbank Concert 2018” list the most needed items. Details are on the web site.
I am told that when Allister Coetzee takes the Springboks out for training and tells everyone to assume their normal position. So they all go and stand behind the goalposts and wait for the conversion.
Let’s face it once you have seen one rugby joke, you’ve seen a maul.
