24th July, Update from Head Coach Adam Fletcher

Following hot on the heels of Jake Maher, comes the return of two former players, who came through the club M&J’s/Colts set up.

Rob Makin (hooker) & Kieran Williams (flanker), return to Lymm and are both desperate to make a big impact with the 1st XV.

Rob made his first team debut back in 2016-17 season. Since then he as been at Nottingham Trent University continuing his studies. He has been a key member of the University’s 1st XV, playing in the BUCS Super League. Rob is back home for a year on work placement, so will be 100% committed to the cause for the season.

Kieran has played over 15 times for the 1stXV, making his debut 5 seasons ago, last playing 18 months ago. Kieran has struggled with back and shoulder injuries since his last game but hopefully they are now behind him and he wants to concentrate on getting fit and then take it from there.

Coach Fletcher had this to say about Rob & Kieran. ” I’ve coached both since the were Colts and also played with Kieran when he made his 1st team debut. I’m very pleased to have both lads back in contention. Rob is an excellent hooker, with a brilliant work rate and really consistent arrows.

” Kieran hits like a train and carries the ball extremely well. If he can stay fit, he’ll have a big impact on the squad. It’s great to have them both back in contention.”
