After nearly 30 years of voluntary service as the Matchday Gateman, Tommy Hyland is retiring. His last match will be on Saturday 13th April 2019, when Lymm play Billingham in the final 1stXV league match of the season.

Tommy joined the club in the early 80’s and quickly became a popular character at the club. He started to follow the 1st XV home and away, often travelling on the team bus to more distant fixtures. When the leagues became more organised and we started to produce match programmes, Tommy volunteered to man the gate and this has continued without break. He still goes to all away fixtures and has also became a popular character with many of our opposition Alickadoos, Vale of Lune and tomorrows visitors Billingham in particular.

Tommy was 81 last Monday and will remain an active supporter of the club. We thank you for all your supportive work for the club Tommy and look forward to seeing you on the touchline for many seasons to come.

Thankyou
